God

Osiris, ancient Egyptian god of the underworld. The Kings of Egypt were associated with Osiris in death as Osiris rose from the dead they would, in union with him, inherit eternal life through a process of imitative magic. The myth described Osiris as having been killed by his brother Set who wanted Osiris throne. Isis briefly brought Osiris back to life by use of a spell that she learned from her father. This spell gave her time to become pregnant by Osiris before he again died. Isis later gave birth to Horus.Osiris was depicted as a bearded man, either green or black in colour, wearing the Crown of Upper Egypt, and swathed like a mummy. In his hands were a flail, and a crook, insignia of the chthonic power vested in this dying and rising god.

Goddess

Isis, the Great Mother Goddess. She was the daughter of Nut, the wife and sister of Osiris, and the mother of Horus. When Osiris was killed by Seth, she gathered up the pieces of his body, mourned for him, and brought him back to life. She hid their son Horus from Seth until Horus was fully grown and could avenge his father. Worshiped as a goddess of protection, Isis guided women in childbirth, marriage, and in the loss of loved ones. Isis is full of compassion, tenderness, love and devotion. She had great magical powers and was invoked to heal the sick or protect the dead. Isis was able to give the gift of immortality. For this reason, she is often portrayed wearing or carrying an Ankh. The Ankh is an ancient symbol for eternal life. The symbol is similar to that of a cross, but it has a looped top. Isis is sometimes seen wearing horns and a solar disk atop her head. She is sometimes pictured with wings. Isis is occasionally shown with a cow's head or with the sign of a throne on her head.
